Pittman is a plain street grid east of Boulder Highway between Sunset Road and Warm Springs Road, with streets like Moser Drive, Galleria Drive and Westminster Way, Wells Park at its center and the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve on its north edge. It is one of the oldest communities in the Henderson area. Housing first appeared around 1930 as workers arrived, the area took the Pittman name in 1942 and it merged with Henderson in 1953. Today it is a mix of single-story ranch homes and industrial business parks, mostly without a homeowners association, with Cadence growing on its east side. That history shows up behind the walls. The oldest homes can still have galvanized steel supply and cast iron drain, waste and vent piping, homes from about 1978 to 1995 fall in the polybutylene window, and later houses may have Kitec or copper old enough for pinhole leaks.
Galvanized pipe narrows from the inside as corrosion and hard water scale build up, so the first sign is usually weak pressure at one fixture or discolored water rather than a burst. Polybutylene, typically gray pipe with crimp rings, turns brittle as it reacts with the chlorine in treated water and tends to fail again after each repair. In both cases the claim windows are long closed, and a planned repipe through Pipe & Fixture Services makes more sense than patching. Many Pittman houses have also been remodeled several times, so one home can hold original pipe, later copper patches and modern PEX, with corrosion where dissimilar metals meet. We identify what is actually there before recommending anything. Sewer laterals here are often clay or cast iron, and roots from mature trees cause recurring slow drains before a backup, which is where Drain & Sewer Services and a camera inspection come in.
We work cheapest fix first: flush the water heater, clean aerators, test incoming pressure and check that the main shut-off actually closes, since a valve that has not been turned in years often will not. Permits run through the City of Henderson Development Services Center. Active Plumbing, a fourth-generation family business licensed since 1991 under Nevada license #0047021, arrives in 30 to 60 minutes and gives a written price before work starts. Call (702) 438-3357.
