Gas line installation is running new natural gas piping from an existing supply, or from the meter, to an appliance or group of appliances. The pipe is sized from the total BTU demand of everything it serves and the length of the run, so each appliance gets enough gas at the right pressure. Each new line ends in an accessible shut-off valve and an approved connector, and the whole system is pressure tested before it goes into service.

Most gas line installations start with a change in the home: swapping an electric range for gas, adding a gas dryer, moving from an electric water heater to a tankless gas unit, or finishing a garage or addition. The first question is always capacity. Every appliance has a BTU rating, and the pipe has to carry the combined load over the full length of the run. A line that is too small starves appliances, which shows up as weak flames, a tankless heater that cannot keep up, or burners that drop when something else turns on. Interior runs are typically black iron or corrugated stainless steel tubing (CSST), chosen for the layout, and CSST is bonded as its installation instructions and the local code require. Buried runs need coated pipe or a listed system and a proper trench. Caliche, the cemented hardpan common across the valley, makes that digging slower and adds cost, which we build into the written price.
