The Paseos is a Summerlin village built largely through the 2000s on the western side of the community, reached from Far Hills Avenue at the western end of Summerlin Parkway. Desert Moon Road, Antelope Ridge Drive, Fox Hill Drive and Sky Vista Drive run through it past Paseos Park, Fox Hill Park and Vassiliadis Elementary, and it adjoins The Vistas and Stonebridge. Homes are slab-on-grade, mostly two-story, with copper or PEX supply, so there is no galvanized, cast iron or polybutylene here and no repipe work in the sense older parts of the valley need it. What the village does have is a whole generation of equipment reaching end of life at roughly the same time, because it was built in a compressed period.

Water heaters installed with the house are at or past rated life, and plenty of homes are already on a second unit that is now aging too. With valley water at about 280 parts per million, roughly 16 grains per gallon, scale is the reason: it coats tank bottoms, fouls mixing valves so showers run hot and cold, and clogs aerators and appliance screens. In a two-story plan, a failed supply connector, toilet fill valve or washing machine hose upstairs leaks onto the living space below. Braided stainless connectors, a pan under an upstairs washer and a main shut-off that actually closes are sensible steps at twenty years. Lots back onto paseos and trail landscape with their own irrigation, so a yard leak can show first on the water bill, and caliche slows any exterior dig.
