Valley jurisdictions adopted the 2024 Uniform Plumbing Code with Southern Nevada Amendments, effective in early January 2026, so new work must meet current rules: WaterSense fixtures, 1.28 gallon toilets, water heater drain pans where a leak would cause damage, and gas piping under a slab in conduit or a listed system that can be removed without disturbing the slab. Caliche makes trenching slower and costlier, and backfill must be compacted so lines stay on grade. Gas work is coordinated with Southwest Gas.
