Below Sunrise Mountain, recurring drain trouble on cut-and-fill lots calls for a camera inspection, not another cabling.

Sunrise Mountain neighborhoods sit below the 3,366-foot peak on cut-and-fill ground above the Las Vegas Wash, mostly in ZIP 89156. Settled slabs and runoff make camera diagnosis key. Active Plumbing serves the corridor 24/7.
The homes below Sunrise Mountain sit on the eastern edge of the valley, beside Frenchman Mountain and above the Las Vegas Wash, reached by Lake Mead Boulevard, Hollywood Boulevard and Nellis Boulevard and mostly in ZIP 89156. Housing went up from the 1960s through the 1990s, much of it on graded cut-and-fill ground rising toward the mountain front. Uneven settlement of that fill over decades puts strain on rigid under-slab supply lines and cast iron or clay drains. The result is a recognizable pattern: the same house with repeat drain problems, a sewer lateral with a belly or separated joint, hairline slab cracks and doors that have shifted out of square.
Local Knowledge
Differential settlement on cut-and-fill lots can sag or pull apart rigid drain joints, causing repeat backups in the same house.
Older phases carry galvanized supply and cast iron drain lines that scale and corrode internally, showing as falling pressure and slow drains.
Storm water coming off the slopes toward the Wash can overwhelm yard and floor drains and overload aging laterals.
Under-slab supply lines held in a moving slab can leak, often showing as a warm floor spot or a rising water bill.
Later phases with copper supply are reaching the age where pinhole leaks begin on hot lines and under-slab runs.

What we offer in Sunrise Mountain
A gas leak is the one plumbing problem where your first call is not to a plumber. Get everyone out, call Southwest Gas from outside, and once the area is safe, Active Plumbing tracks down the leak and repairs it. Technicians arrive in 30 to 60 minutes anywhere in the valley, 24/7.
Learn more →A new gas appliance is only as good as the line feeding it. Active Plumbing installs gas piping across the Las Vegas Valley, from a single connection for a range or dryer to a new main line run, sized to the load and inspected through the building department for your address. You get a written price before work starts.
Learn more →Gas lines rarely end up where a remodel needs them, and older piping was often sized for fewer appliances than a home runs today. Active Plumbing moves existing gas lines and replaces undersized sections across the Las Vegas Valley, with the whole system recalculated, permitted and pressure tested. You get a written price before work starts.
Learn more →Most gas problems build slowly, at a connector, a valve or a joint nobody has looked at in years. A gas safety inspection from Active Plumbing checks the system from the meter outlet to each appliance and gives you a clear, written list of what we found. If something needs repair, you get a written price before any work starts.
Learn more →An outdoor kitchen or fire feature is only as good as the gas line feeding it. Active Plumbing plans, sizes and installs exterior gas piping across the Las Vegas Valley, pulls the permit through the building department for your address and pressure tests every run. You get a written price before work starts.

We pressure test the repaired system, relight appliances and check that each one is burning properly.

Local Tips
If your doors stick and your drains keep failing, mention both when you call, since settlement can explain the two together.
On higher streets toward the mountain, ask for an incoming pressure reading rather than assuming it matches the valley floor.
Ask for photos of the camera footage or the failed part so you can see the fault before approving the repair.

A wet bar fridge line was 1/4-inch plastic mashed in a hinge. Copper with a shutoff and a strain-relief grommet. We were in Santa Barbara, Summerlin. The hinge swings and the fridge still makes ice.

A sewer camera showed a tap-root invasion at the parkway. They cut a spot repair and installed a root-barrier wrap. We were in Capri At The Vistas, Summerlin. The parkway tree stayed and the line is clear.

The tankless and the grill were starving each other on a 3/4 riser. They upsized the branch and added a sediment trap at each appliance. We were in Downtown Las Vegas, Las Vegas. Both fire together now without the flame going lazy.

The neighborhoods below Sunrise Mountain are in unincorporated Clark County within Sunrise Manor, so permits, plan check and inspections run through the Clark County Department of Building and Fire Prevention under the Southern Nevada Amendments to the Uniform Plumbing Code as adopted by the county.
Sewer line repair typically runs $1,500 to $5,000 in the Las Vegas Valley, and full sewer line replacement typically runs $4,000 to $12,000. These are market ranges, not quotes. Slopes, caliche and rock can make excavation harder here, and Active Plumbing gives you a written price before work begins.
Active Plumbing technicians arrive in 30 to 60 minutes anywhere in the valley, including the streets below Sunrise Mountain, 24 hours a day.
On cut-and-fill ground, settlement can leave a belly or a separated joint in the sewer lateral. Cabling clears the blockage but not the defect, so a camera inspection is the step that tells you what is actually wrong.
Clear yard and floor drains, keep runoff paths away from garage openings and have a slow or root-damaged lateral checked before summer storms load it.
Ask for the Nevada State Contractors Board license number and look it up at nvcontractorsboard.com. Active Plumbing holds license #0047021 and has a 4.9 Google rating with more than 880 reviews. Unlicensed cash work leaves you without recourse if a repair fails.
